Chat with aalto.fi is a conversational chatbot that replies to questions about Aalto University as long as the content is available on www.aalto.fi.

Chat with aalto.fi is an extension of the Aalto AI assistant that has been built to help find answers and content on aalto.fi through a conversational interface. In simple terms, it is ChatGPT but can only reply based on www.aalto.fi content (excluding attachments) and will always provide a reference source for the answer. It can be found on aalto.fi at the For Personnel Hub.

Chat with aalto.fi is a time-saving solution that helps users to quickly find an answer to practical questions relating to working or studying at Aalto. The aim is that instead of searching for the answer across several pages, you can save time by receiving a direct answer to your question and links to the relevant aalto.fi pages. 

Note that you might not get the full answer or the full scope of information relating to your question, but Chat with aalto.fi should provide a good starting point for finding the right information.

Instructions for using Chat with aalto.fi

  1. Navigate to the For Personnel Hub.
  2. Write your question to the chat. You can ask any practical questions related to working or studying at Aalto, such as "How can I get a new computer?" or "How can I get help with funding for my research project".
  3. Write a follow-up question if the first reply does not answer to your question. Your chat history is stored during the session.
  4. Verify the information provided by Chat with aalto.fi by taking a look at the aalto.fi pages included in the chat reply. Every reply is accompanied with a reference source. 

How does it work?

In short, chat with aalto.fi is ChatGPT that only answers based on content on the main www.aalto.fi site, excluding attachment files.
