Bachelor's Degree
Your bachelor's studies are often your first touchpoint into the academic world and the starting point of your future career. This is a great chance to create meaningful networks, investigate your interests and personal values and start designing your career path. Taking part in different activities like participating in student associations or guilds, volunteering or going on an exchange are great ways to explore and learn!
Year One: What motivates you?
During your first year it is a good idea to reflect on your motivation as it will influence your wellbeing and success. Why do you want to study this field? Which subjects interest you the most? Does this feel like a right path for you?

Meaningful work is one of the best predictors of career success and wellbeing. It is work that is aligned with your identity - your core values and natural strengths. Take some time to learn more about yourself by trying out different things such as summer jobs, volunteering or student activitites.

Year Three: Where do you want to make a difference?
Meaningful work is not only about what energizes you but also about your contribution and purpose. What kinds of problems would you like to work on? Who do you want to help? Bachelor's thesis, study projects and internships are a great way to test your career direction and develop your skills.

Master's Degree
Your Master's studies are a space where you can further define your values and personal goals. Part-taking in competitions, study projects and internships as well as continuing to network and participate in the student culture are great ways to clarify the direction you wish to take in your future career.
Year One: What is your career narrative?
Spend time clarifying your career narrative and identity. Consider alternative routes to live by your values, leverage your strengths and make a meaningful impact. Do you want to work in the industry, public sector or in an NGO? Create your own business? Become a self-employed artist? Pursue an academic career? Work in Finland or abroad? Be creative and experiment as ready-made tracks no longer exist in the changing world of work.
