The career monitoring survey is conducted as part of the national academic career monitoring coordinated by the Aarresaari network, which consists of 13 Finnish universities' employment and career services. The survey is conducted using a standardized questionnaire simultaneously for those who graduated five years ago. The results presented on this page are based on the data obtained from the survey conducted in 2024 and targeted to graduates in 2019.

Graduates from the School of Electrical Engineering value their degree and feel that their employers appreciate their qualifications. Of the respondents graduated in 2019, 93% were satisfied with their degree in relation to their own career, 98% felt that their employers value their degree, and 97% would recommend the degree to others.
The employment situation for those who graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering in 2019 is very good according to the results of the career monitoring survey. 96% of the respondents were either employed or self-employed. Five years after graduation, respondents’ median salary is 5000 euros per month.
The largest companies and organizations (with over 250 employees) employ the most professionals graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering. Of the respondents, 56% work in large companies, 24% in small or medium-sized enterprises, 8% in universities, 6% work for the state, 3% are self-employed.
Respondents named companies such as Aalto University, ABB, Canatu, Fingrid, Finnish Defence Forces, Fortum, Murata, Nokia, Planmeca, RELEX Solutions, Sweco, and Vaisala as their current employers.
Examples of the most common job titles include Acoustics engineer, Automation engineer, Doctoral researcher, Energy analyst, Information security consultant, Product development engineer, Project manager, Software designer, Technical consultant and Test engineer.
The skills considered most important in their current jobs by the respondents include ability to learn and adopt new things, problem-solving skills, information retrieval skills, analytical and systematic thinking skills, and self-direction or taking initiative.
