Monday morning sunshine and a breakfast together with tutors and other students gave a good start for the first week of the new students joining the School of Science. This year, the school welcomes altogether 670 new students: 300 joining the bachelor’s programmes and 200 the master’s programmes, as well as 140 exchange students and 30 Data Science students in the new English-medium bachelor’s programme.

The week started with presentations on what it is like to study in the School of Science and what kind of research is conducted in the school. The students also learned about the content of their own programmes and study options, met teaching personnel and got an introduction to student life in a school of technology (teekkari life) by the student union. Moreover, the students learned about support services provided by the school, and made a tour around the campus led by their tutors. The real work started on the second day when the enrolment to the courses opened.
