Aalto joint academic activities

These joint academic units cover a range of multidisciplinary activities that support Aalto University's advancement in academic and research activities and impact creation.

Aalto University's joint academic activities (JAAs) include joint research infrastructures (ELLIS, Otanano and Aalto Studios), joint education (Aalto University Junior, Language Centre, Design Factory and LWL, lifewide learning activities), joint innovation activities (Aalto Startup Center, EIT-KIC, cross-cutting approaches CCAs and entrepreneurship) as well as Aalto University's exhibitions and art collection. The provost has overall budget responsibility for the joint academic activities.

Aalto University Junior is art, science, technology and entrepreneurship for children, young people and teachers - to support teaching, personal joy and a source of enthusiasm.

Language Centre

The Language Centre is a joint teaching and service unit for languages and communications at Aalto University both for students and staff. The goal of the Language Centre is to provide students and staff with such language and communication skills that give a strong foundation for success in both studies and in the world of work.

Aalto University Open University

Open University courses are open to everyone regardless of background or age. Open University offers individual courses in Business, Technology, Languages, and Art and Design. Students are admitted to individual courses in the order of registration.
