The Teacher Services team develops digital services for teaching and learning and provides support for their use. The team is part of the Learning Services.
Panopto media service
Panopto at Aalto simplifies video content creation and distribution, making it easy to capture, edit, and share presentations and lectures.
With Panopto Recorder, multiple feeds can be recorded simultaneously, including audio, video, webcams, screencasts, and PowerPoint presentations. These feeds are seamlessly combined into an interactive viewing platform, where viewers can switch between feeds, take notes, and search for content using speech recognition technology.
Recordings can be embedded directly into MyCourses, Aalto Blogs, and other web platforms or streamed via the Panopto Player. With Panopto Recorder, you can webcast lectures, events, talks, and presentations, all of which are securely stored and archived in the Panopto cloud. Recordings can also be made directly from a browser using Panopto Capture, eliminating the need for additional software.
Panopto’s video content management system includes a basic video editor for trimming and editing video feeds and slides. The Panopto Editor leverages automatic speech recognition technology to generate captions, which can be easily edited and translated. Additionally, the Panopto mobile app allows recording from mobile devices or uploading video files directly to the Panopto cloud.

Talk to a camera or record a podcast in a controlled environment with little setup up front, located at the Harald Herlin Learning Centre. It can be booked with an Aalto user account.
