Erasmus+ Programme
Erasmus+ Erasmus is Europe’s largest university exchange program, supporting European cooperation in higher education and funding international student and staff mobility. The new program umbrella is called (2021-2027).
Who is eligible?
- Student mobility for studies: Students are encouraged to spend some time at one of Aalto’s partner institutions to enrich their cultural awareness, academic competence and grow their independence. Student mobility is supported by Erasmus+ scholarships for exchanges in Erasmus+ partner institutions of Aalto University abroad. Long-term mobility period is 3-12 months and short-term mobility period 5-30 days.
- Student mobility for training: Students can complete an internship abroad and apply for Erasmus+ funding for it (max. 4 months).
- Staff mobility for training: Also administrative staff are able to benefit from work shadowing and benchmarking at a partner university to see how administrative tasks are handled abroad.
- Staff mobility for teaching: Research and teaching staff are able to learn from experts at a foreign university and exchange ideas with their colleagues abroad.
- Blended Intensive Programmes (5-30 days' short courses that combine virtual and physical learning components for students and staff)

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
Each university which is part of the Erasmus program has an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, granted by the European Commission. The charter provides a framework for all Erasmus University co-operation and the activities involved. It also describes the basic principles, terms and conditions of the cooperation.
