Experts at Aalto University’s Career Services bring students and employers together in many ways and through numerous different channels. One of their joint efforts are recruitment events, i.e., the Summer Job Day in Januaryand Aalto Talent Expo in late autumn

This year, Aalto Talent Expo has been confirmed to take place on Thursday 2 November 2023. In this recruitment and networking event, employers have an excellent opportunity to meet and recruit Aalto University’s bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students from the fields of business and economics as well as technology and art & design. At the same time, employers can build a positive employer image among students. Aalto students, on the other hand, can meet a wide range of employers and, if they so wish, showcase their competence to employers face-to-face.

The one-day fair will be held in Otahalli in Otaniemi and the virtual sections in JobTeaser, where students can also familiarise themselves with the employers taking part in the event and the vacancies in their organisations in advance.

‘An extremely cool event!’

Approximately 4,500 students from the fields of economics, art and technology and 128 organisations from different fields participated in Aalto Talent Expo last year. Based on the feedback, both exhibitors and students were very satisfied with the event. The exhibitors gave the fair an overall rating of 4.5/5. The students gave the live event a rating of 4.2/5 and the virtual event a rating of 4.1/5.

‘An extremely cool event! There were enough exhibitors, and I was able to talk to people even though I’m an introvert,’ one student commented.

‘As a whole, we had a very successful event and we had numerous inspiring discussions with students! Your communication on the practical aspects of the event was very sufficient and clear, which we very much appreciated,’ one exhibitor commented.

Ville Hakulinen, Fair Coordinator at the School of Business, explains that recruitment fairs have long and functional traditions that stem from the predecessors of Aalto University. On that basis, they have continued organising Aalto Talent Expo joint fairs together with all Aalto’s six schools since 2019. To succeed, it is important that nothing is left to chance.

‘Last year, we invested especially in the visuals of the fair area, the routes and the layout of the fair stands, which resulted in a flashy and safe fair. The feedback provided us with some new wishes and tips that we will try this year. Our work is guided by our wish to create a functional framework for encounters between employers and students. Even though the hall is bustling, we want students and employers to be able to have good discussions. We want students and employers to have the opportunity to share their competence, interests and needs with each other in peace.’

Registration for employers will open in May. Welcome 91ÇàÇà²Ý Talent Expo!
