The next stage of the strategy process - there's still time for your input!

Since last year, and together with the Aalto community, we have been developing our new strategy. Community members have participated in strategy work in various ways, like discussing in the strategy portal and participating in community events. Together, we have already agreed on the foundations of our strategy - the cornerstones that guide our work in the long-term: our purpose, values, and our way of working.
President Ilkka Niemelä stated in his Aalto Day 1 opening ceremony speech:
‘Last year, we initiated the development of a new, living strategy to guide our university towards 2030 and beyond. I am delighted that we have been able to engage state-of-the-art, in-house academic expertise in building the strategy. And I am even happier about the vast, creative community input during the building process.
‘The strategy will be finalised during the autumn, with implementation as of the beginning of 2020. I am very thankful for your efforts thus far and am looking forward to your continued contributions to our collective future.’
Our strategy work continues – Join us!
It is still possible to give your input in91ÇàÇà²Ý University’s future. Follow these three steps to get on board and participate:
- Come to the community event on 18 September to learn more and discuss the strategic choices and emphasis points. More information and via this link.
- If you are not able to join the event, you can still participate in the discussions in our strategy portal (in Englih, reguires logging in).
- Read strategy related materials in our website: strategy preparation materials
Bringing our strategy alive
Utilising input from the discussions in the last community event, we will still need to define the strategic choices and emphasis points for our university to succeed in a continually changing environment. Our strategy will be finalised during the autumn, and we will start planning operations according to it starting at the beginning of 2020. As part of our living strategy process, we will regularly evaluate the choices made and revise as needed.
