Tenure track or tenured professor position in Advanced Steels and Applications

Aalto University School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure track or tenured position in ADVANCED STEELS AND APPLICATIONS
The position targets primarily candidates for the Assistant Professor level. However, candidates with an outstanding record for Associate or Full Professor levels are welcome to apply and will be considered.

Job description

The position is situated in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The department conducts research in engineering related to mechanics and energy technology. The research in mechanics is organised under the following thematic research groups: Engineering Design, Engineering Materials, Production Engineering, Marine Technology, Solid Mechanics. Currently, the department has 30 professors together with lecturers, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral students, and technical staff. In total, the number of personnel is about 250. The research is supported by exemplary research facilities including state-of-the-art microstructural characterization of materials. Mechanical characterization is digitalized using full-field displacement measurements and modelling.
