New rest facilities for the outdoor areas of the Undergraduate Centre

The development of outdoor areas is one of the focus points of the Otaniemi campus. For example, the outer area of the Undergraduate Centre's central Amphitheatre has been improved and modified, and several new bench and table sets have been added to the outdoor areas as part of the improvements made in spring 2023.
More extensive use of the campus's outdoor areas for activities such as working or reading has come up in feedback often. The new bench sets can be used for studying, informal meetings, or for hanging out and relaxing while enjoying the nearby nature without straying too far from the campus.
The outdoor furniture comes in a wide range of models some of which are best suited for resting and recreation out in the fresh air.

The outdoor furniture of the campus will be supplemented later during spring and summer.
The locations of the seats have been selected with people's wishes and practicality in mind. 鈥淭he Otaniemi campus is at the heart of student activity, and it is wonderful to see how the campus is being improved according to the students鈥 wishes,鈥 states Fanni Mattson, member of the Board of AUS, responsible for the campus matters.
Multiple bench and table sets are available around the Undergraduate Centre and in its courtyard (access to the courtyard from the Y wing near the lobby of the building) The bench sets are easily accessible, and they can be moved according to their intended use, if necessary.
