In memoriam Hannu Paulapuro

Hannu Paulapuro was Professor of Paper Technology from 1990 until 2012.

Emeritus Professor Hannu Paulapuro sadly passed away on June 8. Hannu was Professor of Paper Technology from 1990 until 2012. During that time he supervised over 350 Masters thesis works and 50 licentiate and doctoral thesis. Many of his students formed the backbone of the Finnish and European paper industry. Professor Paulapuro was an early leader of internationalization at Helsinki University of Technology. He has a range of achievements in paper science. For his students he was a kind, encouraging and always helpful professor.
