Guidelines of Otaniemi land-use were discussed at ABE

The aim was to find common ground between the stakeholders and form a vision together for the future land-use of the Otaniemi area.
The stakeholders, consisting of the citizen organization, land-owners, the university, student organizations, researchers from three research projects and the city representatives had met previously two times. Before the third and last meeting of the group within the EUE project, the stakeholders had been involved in different development projects related to Otaniemi. For example, Nordic Case Competition on Sustainable Urban Development had produced development plans and ideas for the Waterfront Walkway in Otaniemi in October.
However, the main agenda of the meeting was to reflect on a concrete format for a document or a process to guide the development of the Otaniemi area. This document will now be developed further by the city. The results of the research project will be published next year.
