Danske Bank becomes Premium Partner of School of Business
‘We are very happy to have Danske Bank as a Premium Partner of the School of Business,’ says Jonna Söderholm, who is responsible for the external relationships at the School of Business.
'Danske Bank operates in international markets, which makes the collaboration especially beneficial for our students. In addition to being an international bank, Danske is also known for investing heavily on digitalisation. We believe this makes a wide range of opportunities possible in the collaboration that we are now starting,’ Söderholm continues.
The partnership, which was signed in April, means that the company will become familiar to students through extremely versatile activities within the partnership programme. There is a large range of collaboration possibilities with Danske Bank: the bank offers opportunities whether the students are interested in investments, the corporation or digital applications.
‘It is great for us to have a chance to work with the students. We entered into this collaboration specifically Aalto University’s diversity in mind: we hope we can have broad-ranging discussions with students who aim at different positions,’ says Risto Tornivaara, CEO of Danske Bank in Finland.
The collaboration includes participation by the partner company in teaching through, for example, different case studies. Danske Bank intends to implement student projects tailored together with students, in which students find a solution under academic guidance to a challenge given to them by the company. In addition, the bank will also participate in job search training given to students. Participation in CV clinics, LinkedIn training and case interviews is an important and essential part of the collaboration and conversation with students.
‘The focus of our collaboration will be on projects with both Danske Bank in Finland and our main office in Denmark. We want to offer the students an opportunity to learn to know our bank from as many different perspectives as possible.’
Through the partnership programme, companies get the chance to engage in long-term collaboration with the School of Business in many different areas. Possible forms of collaboration include developing the company employer brand, contributing to teaching, carrying out research cooperation, for instance in connection with student projects, and acting as a visiting lecturer. A total of 13 companies are currently involved in the programme.
