Co-operation was discussed at the Bay Area Alumni meet

Silicon Valley alumni gathered with old and new friends to meet and greet and to make new Aalto memories at SCANCOR, Stanford Campus on Wednesday, 11 February. The event was targeted to all graduates and former employees of the Aalto University and its predecessors.
As the host of the event Dean Ingmar Björkman from School Business told about Aalto University and its recent developments. He spoked about the collaboration with Stanford University and the ways in which Aalto fosters a startup culture.
Special alumni guest was Petri Talala Vice President, Sales at Idean shared his journey from Otaniemi to Silicon Valley.
Most participants volunteered to support or mentor Aalto students and fellow alumni who move to Silicon Valley. Many were willing to volunteer their time and talents for Aalto by sharing their Silicon Valley experiences 91ÇàÇà²Ý students when traveling to Finland.

New Academy Research Fellows and Academy Projects
A total of 44 Aalto researchers received Academy Research Fellowship and Academy Project funding from the Research Council of Finland – congratulations to all!
FITech Network University's new project increases the network’s capabilities in continuous learning
FITech's new FITech FORWARD project aims to develop the member universities’ ability to create offerings of continuous learning and micro-credentials to meet the current skill needs in the field of technology. Besides Aalto University, also Tampere University, University of Oulu, and University of Vaasa are involved in the project.
