Applicants applying to the Master's Programme in Finance in admission group 1 will not be required to take the standardized GMAT or GRE test in the future. Admission group 1 includes applicants who have completed a suitable bachelor's degree at a Finnish university. As a result of the change, the admission requirements of the program will be harmonized with the admission requirements of other English-taught master's programmes at the School of Business.

‘The Master's Programme in Finance has been the only English-taught master's programme at the School of Business, where applicants in admission group 1, i.e. those who have completed a suitable bachelor's degree at a Finnish university, have been required to take the GMAT or GRE test and obtain a certain minimum score,’ says Programme Director, University Lecturer Joni Kokkonen.

‘In this regard, we wanted to harmonize the admission requirements of the Master's Programme in Finance with the criteria of our other English-taught master's programmes and removed the test requirement from applicants in admission group 1."

In admission group 2, applicants to all English-taught master's programmes at the School of Business are still required to take the GMAT or GRE test with the minimum score set for each program.

Highly sought after graduates

The Head of the Department of Finance, Professor Matthijs Lof welcomes a wide range of applicants to the programme:

'We are looking for applicants with a passion for finance from every part of the world. While some students start the programme after completing BSc studies in Finance, we strongly encourage applicants with a background in economics, business, engineering, computer science, or other fields to apply. Our graduates are highly sought after by employers within the finance sector and beyond.'
