Antivirus product will be changed in Windows IT classrooms

Antivirus product will be changed on Windows IT classrooms’ computers starting on Monday, 14 February 2022. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint will replace Sophos Antivirus.

With this change we will improve our cyber security, e.g., authentication attempts from the internet causing account lockouts won’t work anymore and email spamming from leaked accounts will be prevented.

The transition to cloud mail has progressed well. The mailboxes of Aalto's staff and degree students (in excess of 26,000 accounts) have been moved to the cloud.
