IMAP and submission protocols will be closed 8 November
The use of IMAP and submission protocols will end on Monday, 8 November in Aalto university’s centralized email service. This improves information security, e.g. brute force attempts which block user accounts temporarily, will fail after the change.

Large number of Aalto IDs locked due to a denial of service attack
The bug is being fixed, and it seems  that the lockout would have ended at 4pm. Locked IDs open automatically after 15 minutes.
