Welcome to Otaniemi, Jokeri Light Rail! The construction of the Jokeri light rail line has progressed to technical test runs. Otaniemi's turn is on 1 March 2023.

*The procession has been cancelled due to new schedule. Program now between 11.00 and 12.30.*

We will celebrate this day with a procession led by Aalto University's management team and Aalto University Student Union (AYY) board members, starting from Maarintie 8, heading in the direction of Keilaniemi. The departure time of the procession will be 12-12.15, depending on the light rail's schedule.

The procession follows Jokeri Light Rail's tracks, but via pedestrians and cyclists' routes. The light rail stops at the Harald Herlin Learning Centre from 12.30 to 13.30, when you can get a closer look at it - or take a selfie with it, if you want! You can't get inside during the technical testing.

You can join the procession right from the start or hop in along the way. The entire campus community is welcome to come and greet Jokeri Light Rail.

Retuperän WBK will provide the celebratory sounds for the welcoming procession. You can also come and meet Manta’s cap at AYY’s tent.

There is also vegan hot chocolate for the first 100.

Spot the Jokeri Light Rail on the Otaniemi campus!

The technical test runs of the Jokeri Light Rail line will start on the Otaniemi area at 1st March 2023.
