Department of Chemistry and Materials Science

Our teaching

We educate experts who will develop breakthrough technologies in the changing world of energy transition, climate change, and limited material resources. We are educating chemical engineers for the sustainable future.

We offer a comprehensive range of courses at the BSc, MSc, and DSc levels across several disciplines, including General and Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Materials Science.

At the Bachelor’s level, our courses are integrated into the BSc Programme in Chemical Engineering (available in Finnish and Swedish) and the Aalto BSc Programme in Science and Technology (delivered in English). Upon completing their Bachelor’s studies, students have the opportunity to progress to the MSc Programme in Chemistry and Materials Science, which is conducted in English.
