Meadow

This project focuses on increasing biodiversity by planting a meadow that attracts pollinators. The project was started in the fall of 2023 by Creative Sustainability student Meri-Tuuli Moilanen.

Project Duration: April-October

Why do we do it?  

To promote biodiversity on campus and gain meadow-planting experience that can be applied in future projects. Plus, the meadow brings more color and life to our space!

What do we do?  

  • Selecting and planting pollinator-friendly flowers

  • Sowing seeds, watering, and weeding

  • Monitoring plant growth and planning for expansion

  • Hosting small events focused on meadows and biodiversity

Who’s involved?  

Our small group of students, supported by ACRE, takes on everything from planning to maintenance.
