Self-Reflection
by Alarik Rantala

Self-Reflection is a short film exploring the ways in which I interact with myself when I look at myself in the mirror. I am admittedly obsessed with my own reflection. This obsession is quite contradictory as it simultaneously pertains a healthy dose of narcissism but is undercut by chronic self-loathing. The dialogue in the film consists entirely of audio clips sourced from movies released before 1990. As a big cinephile, I have inadvertently memorised several movie quotes and often repeat them to myself while I get ready in front of the mirror in the morning.
