- Expanding vocabulary related to everyday life and work (e.g. food, travel, expressions of time)
- Expanding knowledge of the grammatical structures of Finnish (locative cases, taytyy, parts of speech)
- Practice situations related to everyday tasks and social life (shopping, medical visits)

Evaluation
The course requires regular attendance, active participation in class and completion of homework assignments. Written examination and oral test. The weight given to the various assignments in the final grade is specified at the start of the course.
Teaching time and location
5.5.-17.6.2025. Teaching hours are mainly on Mondays Thursdays during daytime, please see the exact lecture times from the timetable below . This course is conducted as in-person instruction on campus, the teaching takes place at Aalto University campus at Otakaari 1, Espoo. Please note that you'll need the access token to get to the classrooms.

Exam details
Written and oral examination. The written examinations will be held as a remote examination in MyCourses. Oral examination time will be given by the teacher. The teacher will give further information on examinations.
The written examination will be held on 19.6.2025. No registration is required.
Re-examination will be held on 4.8.2025. Please, register in Sisu on 28.7.2025 at the latest.

This course is organized by the Aalto University Open University. The requirements of the course are the same as in the degree studies at Aalto University Language Centre.
The number of participants is limited to 30.
Please note that this course is organized when there are at least 12 students registered for it.
