Classification of information: basic instructions and services

The basic instructions for information classification provides a comprehensive overview of the officially used information systems and digital services at Aalto University. Through the instructions, users receive information on the types of data that can be processed and stored in different systems and services. The objective is to support employees and students in choosing the appropriate data handling and storage locations.

However, most often, data is processed in the university's offered services, which have been designated as the processing locations for the respective data. As a result, employees or students do not need to separately check the basic instructions for a suitable data processing and storage location; it is sufficient to follow the instructions provided by each service.
